MangroviaIoT is a modular and multi-level infrastructure that allows, with a compressed time-to-market, to achieve three objectives:

Manage and monitor the state of a device infrastructure

Data and operational management of the assets distribuited throughout the territory, with control of the communication status of the sensors, representation and reporting of possible anomalies.

Collect, store, monitor and visualize data from sensors

Complete management of the life cycle of the data generated by the sensors, from acquisition to their presentation, with a metrological control system and notification of exceeding configurable values.

Create a database useful for the Advanced Analytics

Ability to feed a data bank to adopt statistical tools and machine learning algorithms aimed at the development of predictive and prescriptive analytics.

Why is measuring energy consumption so important?

An energy audit – which must be done every 4 years – is currently mandatory only for large and energy intensive companies. It is also strongly recommended for SMEs as well because it allows them to implement measurements and improvement actions in order to understand how to optimize the energy consumption of a plant or an activity. The values based on estimates and calculations – starting from the second cycle of energy diagnosis (indicatively from December 2019) – will no longer be considered valid and it will be necessary to measure a large part of the energy carriers under analysis, providing a real monitoring system. In the Energy Management scenario, MangroviaIoT is the asset management and operational intelligence platform that can monitor the infrastructure in field and acquire the data collected.

Asset Management

MangroviaIoT enables a precise and complete control of the field equipment, which is fundamental to ensure the stability of the infrastructure and the consistency of the data collected. It identifies and notifies any transmission problems by representing the information in real time in tabular, graphic and geospatial form:

A dashboard with an integrated and timely view of the roll – out status, communications, alarms and sensors under maintenance to permit an instant view of all installed objects and the immediate display of historical trends.

A dashboard detailing diagnostic and metrological alarm situations that allows to govern and activate the necessary restoration and remediation actions.

A georeferenced representation on interactive maps that allow the geospatial analysis with on-map representation of device data and direct access to monitoring information.

A definition of alert levels on the time frequency of expected communications with timely representation and notification of service failures.

Operation Intelligence

It is a data collection system that provides automatic monitoring of metrics and allows the analysis of measurements made on time and geospatial dimensions, using different instruments:

Visualization of the data collected in punctual mode, at the last update sent and possibility of recovering the history in case of missed communications.

Display of the historical series and possibility to download them with selectable time granularity and time intervals.

Definition of alert levels (minimum and maximum) on individual registers and notifications in case of exceedance.

Activation of automatic actions in relation to the situation and expected behaviour with the possibility of managing complex situations.

Geolocalization of sensors in geographic maps with different styles or in specific custom areas with the ability to manage multiple layers.

on the Italian scene
and operates in the electricity sectors.

Meters - that enable the internal punctual consumption monitoring at the quarter-hour, the sensed data historicization, and the KPIs definition to monitor aggregate or significant data - have been installed in the perimeter consumption centers (control cabins) to optimize the energy consumption from Iren’s utilities (about 350 energy-intensive plants control cabins in Italy's Northwest), to carry out punctual and aggregate energy analyses, and to comply with energy regulations. In fact, MangroviaIoT platform enables the timely and aggregated representation of sensed energy data, the visualization of measurements and alarms historical trends, the visualization of historical data with different temporal granularity, and the comparison between measurements from different devices and between different periods.

It is a company operating in the free electricity and natural gas market, with about 400,000 customers throughout the country.

The MangroviaIoT platform enables the field instruments operating status monitoring, the energy consumption and production optimization, the smart-grid needs supporting, and it allows to perform timely and aggregated energy analysis in compliance with the energy regulations.

SACBO

The Società per l'Aeroporto Civile di Bergamo-Orio al Serio (SACBO) is the company that manages the Milan-Bergamo airport.

The project is about an Analytics system that – based on the data extracted from videos - allow the identification of "subjects of interest" (SDIs), people and vehicles, in the optical and thermal video streams collected from the perimeter security cameras and the generation of alarms in case of presence of the SDIs in one or more user-defined areas for each video stream.
On the same platform (MangroviaIoT), they also manage smart meters in the electrical field for an energy management use.

Revamping foundries through Artificial Intelligence

Sensor Network for Intelligent Predictive Enterprise: is a project that aims to facilitate the digital transformation of foundries.

The Sensor Network for Intelligent Predictive Enterprise (SNIPE) project demonstrated the effectiveness of technology solutions in reducing the downtime on the melting process, on the belt transport and transfer, and on the green sand production in the foundries.
These are recognized as the most critical scenarios in terms of energy and economic impact for the foundry industry, as they have direct implications on other production processes in the event of downtime.
